Our Paper

100% sugarcane fiber

Sugarcane, our origin and point of difference

Our agro-industrial facilities and sugarcane fields are located in the Yungas of Jujuy, one of the most valuable ecosystems in the world. In this unique setting, several vulnerable species can also be found, such as the jaguar, the tapir, and the anteater, among others. That is why caring for nature is reflected in each of our processes, prioritizing the protection of this environment and all forms of life that inhabit it.

It is here that we grow and add value to our sugarcane, transforming it into table sugar, paper for printing and writing, alcohol for beverages and liquors, bioethanol for the biofuels market, and energy.

“In May 2025, Ledesma’s Paper Mill celebrated its 60th anniversary of producing sugarcane-based paper.”

0% Chemical Bleaching Agents

NATURAL Paper

Its sheets have a natural color because they are produced through an industrial process that does not use chemical bleaching agents, which further protects the environment. You can print, make photocopies, draw, and write just as you would with other papers, with the best quality and performance.

Scientific Research with International Endorsement

Ledesma NAT tires your eyes less

Through a scientific study conducted by Consejo Argentino de Oftalmología, we were able to confirm that our Ledesma NAT paper causes less eye strain.

The research was carried out with more than 100 ophthalmology professionals using the typical reading charts found in clinics. Reading times, fatigue through the number of blinks, and visual acuity were measured. The results showed that our natural paper generates less eye fatigue compared to other papers. In addition, this study received international endorsement at ARVO 2024.

The Lowest Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint Verification

We have successfully verified our carbon footprint through SCS Global. This is the method used to measure greenhouse gas emissions generated by humans when manufacturing a product. For its calculation, international protocols created by experts are applied. In this way, we ensure the lowest possible impact in our production process.

Sugarcane is also a plant that absorbs CO₂ (carbon dioxide).Since it is an annually renewable resource, it is not only considered inexhaustible but also highly valuable as a natural mechanism against the greenhouse effect. Ledesma NAT has an almost neutral carbon footprint indicator, which means it offsets nearly all of its carbon emissions..

Alternative Cellulose Fibers

Producto Yungas Certification

We have obtained the Producto Yungas certification, granted by the renowned environmental NGO. This validates the use of alternative cellulose fiber and the protection of our natural environment throughout the entire production process of Ledesma Paper products.
